Welcome to the LGBTIreland study website. This is a research project about the mental health and wellbeing of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Intersex (LGBTI) people in Ireland.

This research is being conducted by a research team led by Professor Agnes Higgins from Trinity College Dublin School of Nursing & Midwifery. It is commissioned by the Gay and Lesbian Equality Network (GLEN) and BeLonG To and funded by the National Office for Suicide Prevention (NOSP).

We hope you will take the time to read a bit more about this research project.

The survey part of the study is now closed. We thank everyone who participated in the survey and took the time to share their experiences. We would also like to express our gratitutde to the hundreds of individuals and organisations across the country who helped promote the study in their organisations, at their events, and throughout social media.

If you have any questions, please use the contact form to the right.

Thank you to the many people across the country who volunteered to participate in an interview with us. We have had an overwhelming response! We will only be able to interview a small sub-group of people but we appreciate everyone who offered to speak with us. We are currently in the process of organising the interviews and will be in touch with interview volunteers shortly.
